Lavinia Schuler-Faccini is a Medical Geneticist certified by the Brazilian Medical Genetics and Genomics Society. She has a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UFRGS. She´s a professor at the Graduate Program in Genetics and Molecular Biology (UFRGS) and in Child and Adolescent Health (UFRGS). Her research areas are Teratogenesis and Epidemiological Surveillance of Congenital Anomalies. She is one of the founders and coordinators of the Teratogen Information Service (SIAT) in Brazil. She also develops research in Population Medical Genetics, being part of the steering committee of the INAGEMP (Brazilian National Institute of Science and Technology in Population Medical Genetics) and the ECLAMC (Latin American Collaborative Study in Congenital Anomalies). She is a former President of the Brazilian Society Medical Genetics and Genomics and of the RELAGH (Latin-American Network of Human and Medical Genetics).
